This position is designated as a Member Associate Trainee (MAT). The intent is to hire recent post-graduates who participate in a rotational development program providing directed training, mentorship, and comprehensive experiences across a range of business areas within Robins Financial Credit Union (RFCU).

This is a 12 month program structured so the team member will gain an overall knowledge of credit union functions and daily operations. The Team member works in various departments in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the assigned department. Through exposure to different business areas and roles the team member learns how these business areas work together to implement strategies successfully.

Each rotation will include involvement in processes related to each area and practical working knowledge of that department's responsibilities. Team member gains hands-on customer service experience and build credibility and confidence by doing the job.Needs to be able to work independently on specific tasks assigned.

  • Participates in a classroom program designed to complement the on-the-job training and share RFCU's vision to aid in the acquisition and improvement of skills relating to the business areas, interpersonal relations and communication, cultural business protocols, sales, teamwork and other business skills.
  • Participates in various program activities, fulfills miscellaneous program requirements, completes other rotations and/or participates in additional developmental and skill building activities
  • Completes additional training as recommended by the manager, either during or after the program. Participates in OJT training that allows for the practical application of certain concepts and behaviors referenced within the classroom to experience a diverse array of client interactions.

Throughout the program the team member will be observed and reviewed on performance, skills, motivation and technical ability. The team member will move into a permanent position after the successful completion of the 12 month program, dependent upon the team member's overall performance, competencies, skill set and what is going to be most beneficial to RFCU.

Qualifications:

Job Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree recent college graduate, 'specific' degree not required

Preferred Education, Certifications & Experience (addition to above):

  • 1 year work experience in the financial industry; or customer service experience

Knowledge and Job Performance Requirements:

  • Leadership ability and qualities
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication, relationship building and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong computer skills (Microsoft Office); ability to manage workloads, make sound decisions; ability to foresee problems; make appropriate corrections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes departmental functions to gain an overall knowledge of credit union operations.
  • Works with department staff to learn specific job duties/daily functions of the positions.
  • Examines procedures and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Provides detailed report of experience and knowledge gained within each module of the program.
  • Completes projects as assigned by management.
  • Researches information for special projects.
  • Manages and completes projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrates and enhances leadership skills.
  • Attends management training seminars.
  • Participates in credit union movement and civic activities
  • Demonstrates teamwork by exhibiting the following: contributing to team effort.
  • Develops a solid basic understanding and working knowledge  of business area's products and client solutions
  • Effectively builds strong working relationships with team members and management
  • Demonstrate a high standard of communication (both verbal and written)
  • Develops a good understanding ofpolicies, procedures and systems relevant to your role within each rotational business area.
